7475 is a controlled toughness alloy developed by Alcoa with a zinc content ranging from about 5.2% to 6.2%. The high zinc content provides excellent strength and hardness characteristics to this alloy. In the same state, the typical fracture toughness of 7475 alloy sheet is approximately 40% higher than that of 7075 aluminum sheet.

7475 Alclad Aluminum sheet is a composite aluminum sheet composed of high-strength 7475 aluminum sheet covered by high-purity aluminum (Alclad). The pure aluminum provides better corrosion resistance, enhancing its durability and reliability. Its outstanding strength-to-weight ratio makes it widely used in aerospace engineering, such as in the manufacture of aircraft fuselages, wings, and other components.
