2024 Aircraft Aerospace Grade Aluminum Plate Sheet

2024 alloy has high strength, much higher than 7075 alloy. No matter in the hot state or the annealing and newly quenched state, the forming performance is better. The heat treatment process requirements of 2024 aluminum alloy are strict, so the heat treatment strengthening effect is significant.

The 2024 aircraft aerospace grade aluminum plate sheet produced by Chalco includes nine states such as O, T3, T4, T6, T72, T81, and T361.

The use of pure aluminum cladding effectively protects the performance of the aluminum plate and improves the corrosion resistance of the 2024 aluminum plate. A special process is used during welding to effectively avoid cracks during welding.

Performance characteristics of 2024 aircraft aerospace grade aluminum plate sheet

  • 1.The tensile strength is large, and the natural effect of quenching is long.
  • 2.Good corrosion performance and good fatigue resistance.
  • 3.The aluminum plate has good shape, smooth layout, no oil spots, no bumps, no scratches, no roll marks.
  • 4.It has good room temperature strength and excellent heat resistance. When the Cu content is low, the low-concentration solid solution has a low tendency to decompose, which improves the heat resistance.

Because 2024 aircraft aerospace grade aluminum plate sheet is a typical duralumin alloy of Al-Cu-Mg alloy, it has reasonable composition and good comprehensive performance. It is widely used in aircraft structures, rivets, truck wheel hubs, propeller components and other structural parts.

The heat-treated reinforced alloy is a common medium strength structural material, which can produce all kinds of semi-finished products. The commonly used T3 and T4, has high toughness and plasticity, good fatigue performance and anti crack performance, but poor corrosion resistance, less than 1mm thickness or molding, aluminum sheet and plate should be used, the short transverse properties and stress corrosion resistance are poor, not fusion welding and brazing.

For gas welding and argon arc welding of aluminum alloy as solder, tend to form crystalline cracks; 4A01 alloy solder, forming cracks tend to be significantly reduced, but the strength of welded joint is greatly reduced, such as heat treatment after welding, the joint strength is close to the substrate, but the ductility decreases.
